Many of our chefs were recently recognized for their unique, innovative flavors at the NACUFS Culinary Challenge, the annual conference of the National Association of College and University Food Services. The Culinary Challenge pits collegiate chefs all across the nation in a timed, live competition to cook a balanced plate using a limited number of ingredients.

In early April, our associates united at 300 of our campuses to celebrate local heroes all across their communities. Together, we gave thanks to over 250,000 firefighters, dining associates, police departments, and other heroes who work hard every day. Through countless compliment cards, words of encouragement, cookies, and celebrations, we made sure that our heroes felt appreciated.

A new restaurant has opened at Carnegie Mellon University with the help of Chartwells at CMU. Capital Grains is a salad and grain bowl dining concept serving students in the Tepper School of Business that is student-run and student-operated.
