Charlotte, NC – May 9th, 2025 – Chartwells Higher Education, a recognized leader in contract foodservice management, has been honored with a prestigious 2025 Platinum Hermes Creative Award for its innovative First Year Eats program. The Hermes Creative Awards, an international competition, recognizes outstanding achievements by creative professionals in the concept, writing, and design of both traditional and emerging media. Chartwells received the highest honor in the competition.

Chartwells Higher Education’s First Year Eats program is designed to create a transformative and inclusive experience for students entering their first year of college through a variety of monthly events, partnerships, and ways for students to form a community in and outside of the dining hall. The program’s campaign included several examples of events hosted by our dining teams to help students connect with each other. From educational financial literacy classes to hiking events to digital passports for fun prizes, each dining team put its own spin on the program to bring students together based on their shared interests and needs.
The Hermes Creative Awards, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), is one of the most respected competitions in the creative industry. AMCP, an organization of thousands of marketing and communication professionals, oversees the awards, ensuring entries are judged by industry experts based on high standards across more than 200 categories.
With over 6,000 entries from various organizations and countries for the 2025 competition, Chartwells Higher Education’s work on the First Year Eats campaign has earned top-tier recognition.
