read moreServing Generations Well In 1966, when Lyndon B. Johnson was president, Gloria Westley joined Cleveland State as an elevator operator in Fenn Tower. Shortly thereafter, she transitioned to food service, garnering respect from staff, students and management. Early to work every day, Westley’s uniform is perfectly pressed, wearing her name tag, hat and cut glove – outperforming staff members 45 years her junior.
A consummate and humble employee, Westley has served under eight university presidents, nine governors of Ohio and 10 U.S. presidents. No wonder she is considered one of the best all-time CSU associates.
