Health and Wellness

Path to Wellness

Wellness means different things to different guests. Everybody is different, with different needs, cravings and goals. We provide education on varied approaches and the means for guests to follow whatever approach they choose. Our programs include:

allergen friendly

Students with food allergies can find a wealth of resources available to help ensure that their dining experience is not only enjoyable, but also safe.

We offer an allergen self-identification tool and allergen-free stations at many of our dining halls. Any students or parents with food allergy concerns should reach out to our management teams for additional information. Our allergy training programs are FARE Check Certified.

menus of change

We are deeply committed to and sponsor this initiative, developed by the Culinary Institute of America and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

This commitment extends to our menus, where we focus on reducing sodium and increasing whole grains and fresh produce.

vegan and vegetarian

Many vegan and vegetarian options are found within our dining halls and meet a wide variety of dietary needs and restrictions. In fact, around 55% of our residential menu items are plant-based. We always strive to create an inclusive food culture where students from all backgrounds and needs can dine together.

All of our menus are clearly labeled so that guests can easily identify what items are vegan and vegetarian.

transparency

Our dining website, dining app and kiosks in the venues all display nutritional and full ingredient information.

We also use icons to highlight whether food is vegan, vegetarian and health focused. Signage in the venues and meal plan brochures further educate about the benefits of wellness and how each guest can pursue a diet that suits his or her goals.

superfoods

Superfoods are nutrient-rich, considered to be especially beneficial for health and well-being.

Throughout the year we feature recipes that focus on superfoods, highlighting and encouraging guests to reap the benefits of these nutritional heavyweights.
